The Task Force today criticized U.S. House leadership for placing its political interests above the interests of congressional pages, as demonstrated by the growing scandal involving former Rep. Mark Foley, who is under FBI investigation for salacious e-mail exchanges with at least one teenage page. |

We are seeking a diverse array of high quality headshots (high resolution photos, if digital) as soon as possible for this purpose. Phone Home todayThe National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Inc., with 15 coalition partners, has launched the Phone Home 2006 campaign, a communitywide effort to defeat anti-LGBT measures on the November ballot in eight states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. It's a simple message: Phone home if you used to live in, went to college in, have family in, or have other connections with any of the states facing these measures. This campaign recognizes that while many of us have moved away from where we were raised or went to school, we still have ties back home. Please join this effort. |

Task Force welcomes new Vaid fellowsThe Task Force Policy Institute is pleased to welcome its fall 2006 Vaid fellows. Cabrini Vianney (left), a Hunter College student, received her bachelor’s degree in sociology and is working toward a master’s degree in social research. Interested in a wide range of social justice issues, she has worked at various organizations, including the Phoenix House Foundation and the United Nations. She looks forward to a Peace Corps assignment in Southeast Asia in June 2007. Sarah Kennedy is a recent graduate of Ohio University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in journalism and a Women’s Studies Certificate. Last year, she co-founded Ohio University's Women's Studies Feminist Undergraduate Network. She currently serves as an editor on The Advocate’s GenQ advisory board. |
