Oregon Senate passes LGBT-inclusive nondiscrimination legislationThe Oregon Senate passed the Oregon Equality Act on April 19 by a 19–7 vote. The measure bans discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in areas such as employment, housing and public accommodations. The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Inc., which has invested substantial staff and financial support in Oregon, applauds the work of state partner Basic Rights Oregon (BRO) in securing this victory. |
