Anti-gay groups active in Massachusetts: A closer look

Fifteen national and local organizations have joined together to form the “Coalition for Marriage” in an effort to deny same-sex couples marriage rights.
The coalition’s leading organizations use extremist, incendiary rhetoric:
- Concerned Women for America called a newly married gay Canadian couple “the latest pair of ‘domestic terrorists.’”
- Focus on the Family says that homosexuality is “treatable and preventable.”
MassEquality, a group of local and national organizations, is working to preserve marriage rights in Massachusetts.
