Here are the facts. Mary Cheney has:
- Served as an openly gay spokesperson for years;
- Repeatedly spoken out on lesbian and gay issues;
- Helped raise significant amounts of money to elect an anti-gay Republican Congress and to help re-elect an anti-gay administration.
The administration she helped elect opposes nondiscrimination laws, hate crimes laws, partner recognition, same-sex marriage, adoption and sex education.
